Telephones
Calls may be made from card or coin operated telephones, or from metered phones in Post Offices, reception lobbies, and some bars and restaurants. 'Creditfone' cards of 50 and 120 units can be bought at post offices, and shops displaying the 'Creditfone' logo. If you are calling a Portuguese number from abroad you must dial the international dialling code (00) followed by the country code for Portugal (351). If you are calling from Portugal, you must dial the international dialling code followed by the relevant country code below:

Mobile Phones
There are a high number of mobile phone users in Portugal, as there are around the world. There are three network operators, providing most of the country with good coverage. They are TMN, Vodafone and Optimus.
Internet It is easy to gain access to the internet in Portugal. You will find paid connections in many cafes, as well as in most Post Offices equipped with the Netpost system. You can also log on in special areas to found at hotels, conference centres and shopping centres. |
